Charlotte grew up overseas as part of a foreign service family and developed a love of travel and food at a young age. During college in Virginia, she started waiting tables at a Japanese restaurant to combat homesickness and fell in love with the industry. She held various management positions in Charlottesville, VA, Washington, DC, Las Vegas, Austin, TX, and New York City, learning every aspect of running a business. While getting her MBA at UVA’s Darden School of Business, she started multi-unit leadership in Las Vegas for José Andrés’s ThinkFoodGroup and loved the synergy of learning a new job while in the program. After graduation in 2018, she transferred to NYC and oversaw service operations as well as administrative and financial systems at ThinkFoodGroup’s newest concept, Mercado Little Spain. When the pandemic hit, she moved back to her adopted hometown of Charlottesville, VA and began working for Evolution. Her background in service training and restaurants has helped develop training programs for independent and soft branded hotels, as well as restaurant consulting for Aimbridge and Evolution with Taste & Theory.

Charlotte is an avid hiker and likes to be outdoors in the garden or walking up a mountain. She is planning her next camping trip through the Southwest and Big Bend National Park, her favorite part of the US. When not outside, she loves to host people for dinner and has been cooking her way through the New York Times cooking app. She spends her free time sewing, dyeing fabric and making jewelry, as well as reading. She loves to find new authors and usually has at least 3 books she’s in the middle of reading.

Her favorite guiding principle is ‘None of us is as good as all of us.’ One of the things that drew Charlotte to a career at Evolution is the idea of servant leadership as the norm. She thrives off of true collaborative teamwork and feels it is the secret ingredient in a top performing organization. “At Evolution, I love the idea that everyone’s viewpoints are respected and encouraged. There is no ‘top-down’ management here and it is what makes our organization truly impactful.”
